Banana Bread French Toast
Back in Canada we have a restaurant chain called Milestones and for a few years they had an incredible brunch item… Banana Bread French Toast. I’ve never been able to fully recreate their recipe, however, it’s still scrumptious, here’s my recipe.
French Toast Recipe
2 eggs scrambled
¾ cup of Milk (cows or alternative milk like coconut milk or almond)
1 tsp of Cinnamon
1 tbsp of brown cane sugar (optional)
Sliced Banana Bread
Real Maple Syrup (because I’m Canadian and there is no substitute!)
Combine first 4 ingredients well.
Heat butter on a griddle or frying pan.
Dip one slice of banana bread into the egg and milk mixture carefully and quickly. One side and then the other side place carefully on the griddle and allow to brown, flip and brown the other side.
Remove from griddle once both sides are cooked, place on a plate and serve with whipping cream and Real Maple Syrup.
Here is my Banana Bread Recipe
4 Ripe Mashed Bananas
1/3 Cup of Coconut Oil
1 Cup of Sugar or Fruit Purée
1 egg beaten
1 tsp of vanilla
After above is mixed:
Sprinkle 1 tsp of bakin soda
1 pinch of salt and mix
Sift 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour and mix.
Pre-Heat oven at 300 degrees
Bake for about 35 minutes in a large greased bread pan
